Euskirchen/Abtsgmünd – The solar specialist from Euskirchen/North Rhine-Westphalia, F&S solar has acquired, planned, developed and built a solar park close to Abtsgmünd/Baden Württemberg called solar park Lutstrut, which represents already the third solar park built this year. The Investor of the solar park will be the energy cooperative BürgerEnergie Abtsgmünd. The plant will produce provisionally 4,600 MW of green current per year.
In total, nearly 16,700 photovoltaic modules were used on an area of 5.5 hectares of land. As soon as the current will be fed into the grid, nearly 1,300 households can be supplied with clean current and more than 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide can be saved per year in comparison to the conventionally produced coal power.
In order to build the solar park, F&S solar cooperated again with the well-proven partners Habdank PV (sub construction system) and SMA (inverters).
The construction works which began in the middle of January were impeded by strong snow falls, ice and rain. The plot partly had to be drained by trenches. The backfilled sand pit although was no problem at all for the solar experts from North Rhine-Westphalia. The specialists are used to difficult and unusual grounds and have already built parks on former military ground with ammunition, bunker fields as well as sewage farms.
A real challenge was the far away feed-in point. F&S solar had to build a trace of 4.5 kilometres. “The irradiation in the area around Abtsgmünd is really high” says CEO Jörg Frühauf, therefore the cooperative may hope for very good yields.
F&S solar has already built solar parks several times for cooperatives. The last one was for a cooperative solar power station in Vogtsburg, in the South of Germany with a performance of 7.8 MW. “We gladly support the regional value chain and are happy if we can promote the acceptance of solar energy, like here in Abtsgmünd” says Frühauf. Projects of this kind allow citizens to participate in solar power stations, also if they themselves do not have own roofs which can be used for solar power.

Euskirchen/United Kingdom– With a solar plant of 4.8 MW in the English Caddington - about one hour away from London - the large-scale project developer from Euskirchen F&S solar started its business successfully on the British market. For this purpose an own subsidiary was founded in Dorset, the F&S solar UK. Now Georg Schmiedel, CEO of the solar specialist could announce to the press that “the park was quickly sold, and we are already building the two next parks in the United Kingdom”.
The solar plant Caddington was sold to Capital Stage AG. The SDAX-listed Hamburg solar and wind park operators continue their expansion successfully on the British solar market and were guaranteed by F&S solar an exclusive option to buy the next two solar plants in the UK with a total generation capacity of 10 MW. Both companies intend to deepen their cooperation especially on the British solar market, where F&S solar currently has got a project pipeline of about 50 MW.
„Capital Stage is a reliable and strong investor with whom we can strengthen our position in the project development and EPC business on the British market. We look forward to a long-term cooperation” says Georg Schmiedel.
Especially in the South of the UK the irradiation is very good, says Georg Schmiedel: “Through the feed-in tariff system in England, the solar plants until 5 MW are very lucrative also for investors.”
Twelve projects in total shall be realized this year on British ground. Although F&S solar has established itself in several European countries now, and the step across the pond is imminent; the enterprise, which is working in the solar branch since 2005, is still active in Germany, too stresses Schmiedel:”With a solid planning and effective realization one can also build successful solar plants here in Germany, which we demonstrate regularly.

F&S solar realizes 10 MW Solar Park in Grossbeeren

Mehr anzeigenGroßbeeren/Euskirchen – The solar specialist from Euskirchen, F&S solar has planned and installed a 10 Megawatt PV installation in the South of Berlin, close to Grossbeeren. The solar park is ready to run and represents already the third large-scale project of the solar project developer from North Rhine-Westphalia in the current year.
The solar park was built on a former irrigation field, where before the fall of the Wall fecal sewage from Western Berlin was disposed of for decades. Still today, 25 years after the fall of the border, the soil is highly contaminated and cannot be used for agriculture or as development area. But it can indeed be well used for a solar park. In total, 39,215 solar modules were mounted on this difficult ground.
In order not to disturb flora and fauna of the area, F&S solar has laid special focus on the communication with the Untere Naturschutzbehörde (lower nature conservation authority). Despite the currently weak subsidies, the solar experts from Euskirchen managed to realize an economically interesting project. “Therefore, the solar park was bought rapidly by a German investor” F&S CEO Jörg Frühauf says.
The success was partly achieved thanks to the partner Mounting Systems GmbH from Rangsdorf, close to Grossbeeren, who have built the sub-construction for the modules, and who have been a long-time partner to F&S solar. A cooperation for more than 10 years also exists to SMA from Niestetal, who have supplied all inverters for the solar park in Grossbeeren.
The new solar park will produce more than 10 Mio. Kilowatt hours of energy per year and save around 7,000 tons of the climate killer carbon dioxide in comparison to the conventionally produced coal power. More than 3,000 households can now be provided with green energy. Due to the big success of this solar park, F&S solar is currently thinking about a further solar park in Grossbeeren.

F&S builds solar park in Jarmen

Jarmen/Germany – On the surface of a former sugar factory in Jarmen a solar power station is being built: The small city in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (Eastern Germany) continues to produce something precious with the support of the sun – nowadays sunlight is making the economic yield - with about 12,000 photovoltaic modules - instead of sugar bees.
Jarmen lies in the South of Stralsund and has got very good irradiation, says Manuel Dormagen, project manager of the German solar specialist F&S solar. “On the surface of the six hectare big area there is a biotope, around which we are building the solar park; furthermore we have a small lake here which in former times served as source for the processing water for the sugar factory – called sugar lake”. Close to the future solar park there is a small river, the Peene which is also a habitat for beavers.
“With the solar power station this region is being upgraded ecologically” says Dormagen. After completion of the solar park the area will be fenced, which means the biotope as well as the lake are left to nature. The fence will be designed in a way that small animals will still be able to slip below it.
With the ecological power of this 3,000-Kilowatt-Peak solar park about 700 households can be supplied, and 2,850,000 Kilowatt hours of yearly current production are predicted. Thus 3,286 tons of the climate-killer carbon dioxide can be saved year by year in comparison to conventional current.
The project manager expects no special problems to occur:”Like on all conversion areas, we have no naturally formed soil here. The soil was filled up. Because of static reasons we have to invest more into the sub-construction.” Through a good planning, profound experience and the circumstance that the feed-in point is very close, the park can be realized very lucratively.
“We have started to drill the mounting piles and will finish the solar park by the end of December” says Manuel Dormagen. F&S solar is already well-known in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: With its solar parks in Anklam and Gützkow they have already successfully planned and built two solar parks in direct vicinity.
